I am returning this otherwise good typing paper to you because someone has printed gibberish all over it and put your name at the top.

I doubt you have ever written THAT on the top of a student's paper but you may have run into a few people over the years who discouraged you from writing. It was my senior year in high school before I heard anything encouraging from a teacher about my writing. Children seem to develop an idea of their ability to write at an early age.
- What makes you want to write?
- How do you encourage you students to take the risk?
I love the comment from the mean professor!
ReplyDeleteI think it would be great to model ways to give children feedback to improve thier writing while still nurturing a love of writing.
Questions:
ReplyDelete1. Sharing an artistic creation that burst through the surface is a risk one must endure?
2. What happens if we create an environment of student ownership?
